About
Our Sister Initiative 'Foundational Breast Care' is an international community of practitioners, officially established in 2016, with a core purpose of promoting the importance of breast care and breast health and understanding how these aspects relate to the whole and overall health of women.
The Breast Cancer Care Retreats are one-day events for women at any stage of breast cancer, current, past or in recovery and also for their carers to come together to participate in presentations and discussions and share their experiences to support each other in the healing process.
Understanding the importance of treatment for
the 'whole' person has never been more relevant, and as the global World Health Organisation (WHO) explains, there is significant influence that lifestyle choices have on the state of our health and well-being. Leading organisations within the medical industry concur in their call for health care protocols to turn to an increased focus on prevention rather than cure, and this is where the self-responsibility of us all is vital to be activated.

*Please note that no medical advice is given at the retreats.
The Breast Cancer Care Retreats provide education to empower women with a focus to support the re-awakening and nurturing of a woman's relationship with herself and her body, and hence acting as a true complement to current conventional medical care for women.
As a group of complementary practitioners, health professionals and women with their own experiences of breast cancer and treatment, we bring to these events an understanding of how a breast cancer diagnosis can come with fear, uncertainty and exhaustion. However, for many a diagnosis can also present an opportunity for a life-changing experience; to truly stop, re-evaluate the way we are living and potentially reintegrate into life a future where it is normal and natural to deeply care for ourselves as women, not second to others but equal to all others.
The Breast Cancer Care Retreats offer presentations and group discussions to share our wisdom and support the potential healing process by:
-
Understanding each woman already holds the key to her own healing
-
Exploring why we find it difficult to put ourselves first
-
Experiencing gentle hands on healing and other practical tools that support us to deeply rest and listen to the body’s inner wisdom
-
Hearing from women who have changed their lives after a breast cancer diagnosis
-
Appreciating how to make self-nurturing choices part of our daily routine

Event Testimonials
I went to the retreat because I needed help, support, understanding, empowering and centering whilst going through this big change. I received all of this, very much so. Thank you to all that made it and added to the experience. I felt a physical change within myself, new, at a cellular level and now have the tools needed to move forward.
The healing sessions were awesome, beautiful, calming and precious.
The retreat covered holistic wellness extremely well.

PS I am in my body now.

The amazing support I felt from everyone on the day - allowed me to reconnect to my heart - opening a space for the deepest healing & letting go to begin.
My beloved Mother passed nearly 2 years ago and my beloved dog & I were diagnosed with cancer at the same time in February - he passed 7 months ago. My beloved Self - 3 Breast Cancer Surgeries in 4 months.
I have been struggling to deal with & move through all the emotions. Everyday I'm in the process & now since the retreat have the extra tools needed to get me there.
Thank you for putting on such a wonderful day.

I had Breast Cancer in 2006 and finished Chemotherapy in 2007. As my treatment was so many years ago, and I had been to a previous Breast Cancer Care retreat in 2016, I had thought that I was long finished with the healing process, but what I found amazing at this recent retreat was that I uncovered some old hurts and feelings that I hadn't yet fully felt and processed. It was very liberating to share with all the women attending and to feel like everything I was sharing was understood.
What I realised was that even though the physical scars on my breast had healed some of the emotional scars had not and during the retreat old hurts released, which left me feeling lighter in my body.
My mum came to it also, and it was great for her to hear some of the things that I went through and for her to have a deeper understanding too. It has made us closer. The presentations by Victoria Warburton and Ingrid Langenbruch were amazing. Helping to get in touch with different areas that we might need support in.
The practitioners offering gentle hands on healing were spectacular and very nurturing in their care and the smaller group discussions helped to unpack any issues we may have been facing.
I found that although my cancer diagnosis was 12 years ago and other women attending were at different stages, some recently diagnosed, others just completing treatment we all connected with each other, this made me feel stronger and more accepting of myself. It became evident that nurturing is something that we all needed, yet have different relationships with. Even after 12 years my body was still processing some of the shame, guilt and hurts.... so to have a safe place and platform to share all of this was priceless.
I thoroughly recommend this retreat.
