what is esoteric yoga?
Esoteric Yoga is a healing modality that supports an awareness and relationship with our body through gentle simple movements, conscious presence and stillness. Founded by Serge Benhayon of Universal Medicine in the year 2000, Esoteric Yoga is a presentation of yoga that allows us to feel the nature of our lifestyle choices and the direct impact these have on our physical body. It is a non-imposing, gentle modality with minimal movement designed to support a space to stop, reconnect and to feel what is going on in our bodies.
Esoteric Yoga assists us as women to take the time to develop a gentleness with how we move and take care of ourselves.
It offers the opportunity to reconnect and celebrate
our innate quality of stillness.
Stillness is a quality that resides within us all and is our natural state of being. However, the level of drive, demands, busyness and emotional stress many women are living with today, takes us away from this natural quality and rhythm of stillness. This way of living creates enormous pressure on the physiology of our bodies, placing strain on the nervous system, creating physical tension, pain, anxiousness, exhaustion and a myriad of health issues.
Stillness provides us with the awareness and inner quiet that allows us to feel where there is disharmony in the body.
This supports us to make the connections between the quality of our thoughts and actions in relation to particular physical stresses or pains. Esoteric Yoga allows us to feel, acknowledge and accept what is really going on within our bodies, providing a new opportunity for a loving and deeply self-supportive approach to our lives. An open and honest approach with ourselves that does not critique or judge the honesty of what our body is sharing.
We are offered the opportunity to connect with what the body is communicating in relation to the quality of harmony or disharmony we feel within.
We may become aware of the emotional, mental or physical tension and ailments, such as sore lower back, tender breasts, period pain, tight neck, hip pain, mental drive, nervous tension, anxiousness, sadness, grief etc. These signs are the body’s way of communicating to us that something is not right or in its natural rhythm.
Esoteric Yoga offers us as women the opportunity to take responsibility for our health and well-being by listening to the inner conversations of our body. From this space we can make choices that are in honour of where our body is at and how we can support ourselves to restore a way of living in true health and vitality.
Esoteric Yoga develops the quality
